Clarisonic Mia Fit Retail Counter Tablet App

Campaign Description:

The Clarisonic Mia Fit Personality Quiz native iOS app was created by Digital Instincts teams to assist Clarisonic sales/beauty advisors in personalizing new product recommendations to customers at retail counters worldwide. The app creatively engaged customers within the Clarisonic Mia Fit brand narrative driving repeat and new sales efforts for the brand. The quiz followed the current interactive wave of online quizzes that are easy to use, highly viral and require little effort to complete. The app’s backend is based on logic that assigns attributes of Mia Fit device colors to one of 3 photos that the user selects being most drawn to. The answers the consumer provides correspond to the logic of the product recommendations results to create a connection that is unique and personal to the customer. Both beauty advisor and their customer understand that they are not receiving a scientific result from taking quiz. The quiz is pure fun. A new way to personalize and drive engagement to upsell and cross sell new products, in new colors, along with new serums and creams, allowing the consumer to relate their purchase back to themselves.

Here’s how the logic was applied. We identified 3 personality types that would relate back to the 3 New Mia Fit color devices, Pink, Blue and White. For each of the total 7 personality questions there was a data point assigned to that color. The quiz results reveal the customers personality color traits and the Mia Fit product for that consumer. An animation and a poem reveal to the consumer that they are for example “Pink” “you're the lover” and similar screens and animations resulted for a blue or white personality type result. The app also contained product demonstration videos and 3D product design animations.
