Clarisonic Sales Education Pollution Pop Quiz iOS Tablet App

Our Role:

Digital Instincts teams developed the Clarisonic Pollution iOS tablet app. Its purpose was to provide sales/beauty advisors with an interactive tool to raise consumer awareness about the adverse effects of air pollution on skin. The app provided a fun way for advisors to teach consumers about the benefits of daily Clarisonic device and skincare product use to effectively ward against environmental damage that pollution can cause. The app was seen as an opportunity to narrate the sales conversation between the consumer and beauty advisor as well as increase repeat and new sales at Clarisonic storefronts.

The app screens contain a series of interactive true/false questions that quiz a consumer’s knowledge of the environmental effects of pollution on skin. Each question navigates the sales associate and the consumer through an easy to answer linear path of questions and answers that demonstrate the benefits of daily Clarisonic device and skincare product use. The results screens show the benefits of removing pollution to enhance skin's natural beauty and defense systems with videos, interactive charts, interactive graphs and pollution skin penetration animations. By empowering sales and beauty advisors to narrate and teach consumers about pollution's effects on skin, they are better equipped to upsell devices and skincare products as a complete solution to new and existing customers. The app also contains a sliding menu that enables the beauty advisor to start the quiz over from any screen, play key product videos and flipbook animations, and a feature to send locally stored app registration data back to brand teams.

The application concludes with providing the consumer with their personalized Skin Awareness Quotient “SAQ” score based on a tally of their correctly/incorrectly answered questions. The app uses scientific evidence to demonstrate and teach about the damaging effects of particulate matter on skin. It also shows that daily device use combined with Clarisonic's anti-oxidant serums and product cleansing creams, skin can be repaired and defended against further pollution related damage.
